Boombiography | BOOMBASNAP | "Jazz-infused Funky Rock with a twist of Hip Hop"
BREAKING NEWS: THE DAWN (REVIEW) - State Of Mind recently featured a review of BOOMBASNAP's The Dawn, "An infectious five-song EP, catalogues the quintet’s jazz-infused, funked-up grooves, putting a fine focus on their unique compositional and improvisational narrative. But not to worry, this is no noodle-fest. All tracks are kept tight and focused, yet never feel constrained — a feat for any band that puts a premium on free-form exploration. Listeners can hear (and feel) the lofty vision — the possibilities — without having to wade through drawn out, excessive jamming. Instead, what awaits is a solid inaugural effort, full of enough groove, hooks and technical gymnastics to pique the imagination and, perhaps more importantly, hold the listener’s attention. click here to read more ....

Boombiography

Boombasnap is a five piece band with a solid funk groove, and hip-hop reggae rocking style. They can also pack several other genres into one amazing show after the next. The band is well known for their high energy and improvisational performances.

Another very important ingredient to this formula is the ability to compose and arrange their own original music. They have developed their own unique sound that speaks for itself. But whether it’s your favorite b-side cover or a Boombasnap original, there’s meaning and deep emotion behind every note.

Each member of Boombasnap has played in other well known and successful bands over the years but finally came together after personally scouting one another out from each previous project. After hand picking an all star line up, through good friends, great music and word of mouth, Boombasnap was born.

One of the band’s main beliefs is to be in a constant state of evolution. To always have a goal and to never stop creating or working on accomplishing everything they live for. Positive productivity drives them toward their natural state of being which is passionately creating art.

The members of Boombasnap have an undeniable chemistry together on stage and off that absolutely thrives in a live atmosphere. When people are looking to enjoy feel good music, they go see this band perform and everybody wins.

Dennis Christiano ( dennis@boombasnap.com ) is the guitar player and vocalist.
He is versed in all types of music and studied theory with a great jazz instructor named Sean Needham. This opened all the doors for him writing wise and let him understand how to write and play his way around complex chordal movements when writing or learning. Trey Anastasio being Dennis’s favorite influence has a major jazz background as well. Dennis’s other influences include: John Schofield, Jeff Beck, Jimmy Page, Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, Jerry Garcia, Mike Stern, Michael Hedges, John Petrucci and many many others. Every “day” and “show” is a great adventure for new sounds and music.

“Music Is A Way Of Life…”

Aaron Dupont is the saxaphonist, flutest, secondary percussionist and vocalist.
After playing sax on Carnival Cruislines, Aaron returned to the northeast to play with the band. His voice can be heard in many of the Hip-Hop tunes and bringing that alto/soprano range to many of the other songs in the BOOMBASNAP catalogue.

John Redden (john@boombasnap.com) is the drummer and vocalist.
He is a multi instrumentalist that focuses on listening and creating dynamic rhythms. He has played and toured nationally in different projects over the years allowing him to see his share of stage time. We are very excited to have him involved with this project and we’ve been enjoying the reactions of our die-hard fans grooving in his pocket.

Cory Schechtman ( cory@boombasnap.com ) is the keyboardist, saxophonist, and vocalist.
After attending Berklee School of Music he left to play saxophone in the horn section of the reggae band “Shango Axe” for several years. His writing and playing styles fit the genres of : Fusion, Funk, Reggae, Psychadelic, Jazz, Latin, Jam-rock, etc. Some of his influences include : Zappa, Wayne Shorter, Jan Hammer, Weather Report, John Medeski, Stravinsky, Chic Corea, Phish, Modest Mouse, Soulive, and Radiohead just to list a few.

“I thank god for returning my sanity but I think that I’d rather go insane…”

Brian Sances (www.BrianSances.com) is the bassist and vocalist.
Brian is known to play multiple instruments, and jumped on the opportunity to play bass with Boombasnap. Guitar being his main instrument, playing bass in a live setting has given him a new perspective on playing and creating music. Brian is best known for recently releasing his debut album, “Here Today”, which he recorded in his home in 2010, and played guitar, bass, organ, harmonica, auxiliary percussion, and provided vocals for all 14 original tracks. “Here Today” also features Dennis Christiano and Aaron Dupont of Boombasnap on select tracks, as well as other notable local musicians. Brian is also currently the guitarist for the Adam Hofmann Revival, an original band based in Sandwich, MA.
